What Does a Batch Number Tell You About a CBD Product?
August 17, 2026
That small combination of letters and numbers printed on a CBD product can carry more meaning than many people realize. A CBD batch number, sometimes called a lot number, is an identifier used to connect a product with a particular production batch. Depending on the manufacturer's system, it can help link a product to manufacturing records, quality-control information, testing documentation, and a Certificate of Analysis (COA). However, a batch number isn't a quality score, expiration date, or proof by itself that a product has passed laboratory testing. Understanding what batch numbers do—and what they don't tell you—can make CBD labels and laboratory documents much easier to evaluate.
